Happy Spring...at least I think it is spring! Last thing I remember was March Break. This morning I saw a neighbour talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into my house, told my dog, and we laughed a lot.
I hope you are all managing during this unusual time. Social distancing is not what Markland is all about; it’s not what humanity is all about but it seems to be the only way to fight this global pandemic. We are all in this together as we live the same day, over and over again. The most mundane tasks have taken on a new meaning. Excitement doesn’t cost a mere fortune anymore! Netflix has become a necessity, not a luxury. Zoom used to be a teeth whitening system. The word hero has taken on a new meaning…and the list goes on.
We are so fortunate to be “stranded” in this neighbourhood we call home. If there is one thing that has not changed in this crisis, it is Markland Wood. Our trees have started to bloom, the birds are chirping, the grass is greener and our loop is being used more than ever. It is amazing how these things become so prevalent at a time like this.
As always, your MWHA is here to create, foster and maintain a community spirit, in both good times and bad. We are not here to dictate but feel obliged to inform our community.
We are all frustrated but we must never feel alone in this wonderful community we call home. Let us all do our part to save lives.
Stay safe, stay well!
