Markland Wood | Community Established in 1960

President's Update

Hi everyone!

Well another winter is almost gone. The beautiful flowers, green lawns and the glorious Markland trees are just around the corner. Over the past month, we have been working to arrange a suitable evening to host a MWHA sponsored community meeting on the proposed 240 Markland Dr. condominium. With residents being away, including our outside planning consultant and unavailable meeting spaces, it has been difficult. The arrangements have now been finalized for Wednesday, March 29 at St. Clement RC Church parish hall, starting at 7:30 p.m. Entrance is off the parking lot. I encourage all to attend. It is very important that you are informed about the latest design concept submitted to the City by the developer for approval, as well as the views of your MWHA Board & our own planning consultant. I also mentioned last month a second community meeting on the 240 Markland proposal. This one is required of the developer through the office of our City councillor Stephen Holyday. The date is worked out with the City Planning Department, and we have been waiting for them to decide. It is now expected in April. More information will follow.
