CITIZEN ONLINE REPORT ENTRY (CORE)

NOTE: If your incident:

Requires IMMEDIATE police attendance or a lengthy on-scene investigation;
Is related to Domestic Violence;
Involves an Emotionally Disturbed Person;
Involves the reporting of Lost Property or
Is motivated by Hate Bias

In order for the Toronto Police Service to process your CORE report, the following information is MANDATORY:

Your EMAIL ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER and other contact information.
The INCIDENT START AND END DATE
The LOCATION of the incident, including the place or area your property was believed stolen.
Any property reported stolen to police must contain a SERIAL NUMBER, AND must have a value of at least $500.
Please CREATE A SEPARATE PROPERTY ENTRY for EACH piece of property that you are reporting stolen.
Please provide a detailed description of what actually happened in the incident description section, with the approximate date and time you discovered the theft from your vehicle, and the last date and time you saw your property in your vehicle. Please also provide information such as:

Where your vehicle was parked, i.e. parking/underground garage, driveway or garage attached to house
Was a security camera present at the scene?
Point of entry to your vehicle, i.e. front passenger window, rear driver’s door, etc.

The accuracy of the information you provide in the report greatly assists the Toronto Police Service in investigating your report. Please ensure it is as COMPLETE AND CONCISE as possible.

Local Neighbourhood Traffic Issue or Concern

Create Report

Ongoing traffic concerns in your neighbourhood, such as street racing, motorists ignoring a stop sign, speeding by motorists on a specific roadway. Examples include: Ongoing issues such as racing on certain nights and times, many motorists ignoring a stop sign, speeding by many motorists on a specific roadway and similar general traffic safety issues. If there is a continuous neighbourhood driving complaint, a specific location, day(s) and time(s) of the issues must be supplied for follow-up action.

Theft from Vehicle Under $5,000

Create Report

Property, not exceeding the value of $5,000, was taken from your vehicle without your permission.

Always keep your vehicle locked and never leave any valuable objects or packages in your vehicle. Never leave originals of your vehicle registration certificate and proof of insurance in your vehicle. Only keep copies of these documents in your glove compartment. Always park your vehicle in a well-lit area or in your garage if possible.

Please note, that thefts from vehicles tend to be under-reported. If you have had something stolen from your vehicle, please report it to the Police. Doing so will help to identify any potential trending crimes in your community.

Driving Complaint

Create Report

Unlawful behaviour exhibited by a specific driver or vehicle, such as speeding, unsafe lane changes, disobeying traffic lights and failing to stop at a stop sign can be reported.

In order to submit a report for a specific driving complaint, a brief description of the vehicle is also required to validate the licence plate information.

A detailed description of the incident should be submitted. Providing as much information as possible will help to ensure that action will be taken against the suspect vehicle owner.

Parking Complaint

Create Report

Request a Parking Enforcement Officer respond to a parking issue that is occurring right now. Specific Types of Parking Incidents are:

A vehicle parked on private property
My driveway is blocked
A fire route is blocked
A public laneway is blocked
An accessible spot is being used without a permit
A vehicle is parked without license plates
A vehicle is parked on the street longer than permitted
Other parking incident

Damage to Property Under $5,000

Create Report

Damages made to property can be reported, along with details related to the incident. Damages to property must not exceed $5,000.

Damage to Vehicle Under $5,000

Create Report

Damage made to a vehicle which did not result from a collision. Damage to the vehicle must not exceed $5,000.

Graffiti & Vandalism

Create Report

Graffiti and vandalism reports can be made related to any damage, writings or drawings made to property that was placed without authorization from the owner.
